What is Email Marketing?

Email Marketing is the use of the emails in all its forms (text, HTML, and with links and mixed media capability) to communicate with a base of clients, customers and prospects, for the purposes of educating, informing, promoting or persuading them to a company’s product or service offering.
 

Can Email Marketing work for my business and organization?

YES - If your client base consists of a significant amount of email users (anything more than 50% is significant) and they are willing to be contacted by you for your marketing purposes.

MAYBE - If you do not have a small or no database yet, you can start gathering more information and getting permission from your customers and prospects. If you never try, you’ll never know. Once you reach a critical mass of contacts, you will know if you’re getting the responses and sales you need.

NO - If your base of contacts are technology averse and almost all do not have an email address. Maybe you sell to seniors above 70 years of age, then you might consider adding their family members to your list instead (with their permission of course). Or maybe the whole effort is just not worth it.
 

What do I need to do to get Email Marketing working for me?

You need to have a database of your prospects, customers and clients. Have at least their First Name and Email Address. Other fields can include: Last Name or Full Name, Mobile, Service or Products Purchased, 

You need to get their permission to email them. There are 3 modes of permission based emails:

1) users opted in to receive your emails,
2) users opted in to receive the emails and confirmed by clicking a link in your email to them, and
3) users already have a relationship with you and are given a choice to opt out.

You need to prepare some content to share with your contacts. It can be information from a product or corporate brochure, a step by step guide to using your products or even emails you sent out in response to questions from other customers.

You need a system that can manage your contacts, your emails and help you send out emails to all your, prospects, customers and clients.
